PRESIDENT BUHARI INAUGURATES MULTI BILLION NAIRA URBAN WATER SCHEME IN BAUCHI STATE!#KSMF REPORTERS BAUCHI.

President Muhammadu has assured his administration's determination to ensure sustainability in provision of federal government intervention projects aimed at bring development in both urban and rural areas across the federation.


He made the commitment in Bauchi during a one day working visit to commission the upgraded water supply scheme in the state metropolis.

Our Correspondent Isiyaka Wunti reports that the project is a collaboration between the state government and work bank, under the world bank assisted project.


Some of the major components of the multi billion naira project include construction and expansion of Gubi Dam treatment plant, construction of high capacity concrete reservoirs in Warinje and Buzaye hills as well as replacement of and expansion of pipelines across Bauchi metropolis among others.


Inaugurating the project, President Muhammadu Buhari represented by secretary to the government of the federation Mr. Boss Mustapha who commended the state government for the initiative maintained that the development would improve the wellbeing and socioeconomic development of the people.

The president said provision of infrastructure in critical areas is  part of the his administration commitment to improve access to potable water for the teaming populace.

President Buhari therefore urged the benefiting communities to reciprocate the gesture through supporting government Laudable initiatives.

The State Governor Bala Mohammed said the project was necessitated by the growing population of the state which has over stretched the public facilities.

According the Governor his administration has also commenced resustation of water schemes in all the twenty local government areas of the state.

He commented the world bank and the federal government for the intervention and assured of proper maintenance of the facilities.

Radio Nigeria observed that the president who was accompanied by ministers of state of industries trade and investment, agriculture, Works and Housing has earlier paid a homage to Emir of Bauchi at his palace.
