Governor Bala Mohammed Relocates BACATMA Office to Ministry of Health, Approves Comprehensive Facility Renovation.

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, Kauran Daular Usmaniyyah, has approved the relocation of the Bauchi State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (BACATMA) from its former office on Yandoka Road to the Ministry of Health headquarters.
The marks a major step toward enhancing synergy within the state’s health sector and improving operational efficiency across the agency’s departments.
The development was disclosed by the Executive Chairman of BACATMA, Hon. Dr. Adamu Umar Sambo, during a press briefing held in his office shortly.
Dr. Sambo confirmed that renovation works have already commenced on the agency’s new offices and associated structures within the Ministry of Health complex, ensuring a more conducive working environment for staff and service delivery.
Governor Bala Mohammed approved the establishment of a specialized service centre for BACATMA to continue its core functions of providing care and treatment for patients suffering from HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria across the state.
The Governor also authorized the full renovation and re-equipping of BACATMA’s central storage units located along Jahun Road, Bauchi. The upgraded facility will now serve as a modern hub for the safe and efficient management of medical supplies.
Sustained Free Medication Supply:In light of the recent withdrawal of U.S. donor funding, Governor Bala Mohammed reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the free provision of essential drugs for HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria patients.
To address the funding gap and prevent service disruption, the Governor directed the immediate release of necessary resources to ensure that all patients continue to receive uninterrupted treatment and support.To ensure promp service delivery, His Excellecy the Executive Governor of Bauchi state, through the Chairman embarked on total overhaul of grounded vehicles. The two vehicles will be used for utility within the state capital and outside the capital.

He emphasized that the relocation and facility upgrades will greatly enhance BACATMA’s capacity to deliver efficient, patient-centred services across all local government areas of Bauchi State.
